The 1898 Tennessee Volunteers football team represented the University of Tennessee in the 1898 season. This was the Volunteers first time to not have an active football team due to the Spanish-American War. The Volunteers also did not field a team in three other war years: in 1917 and 1918 during World War I and in 1943 during World War II.
